Overview :

Al-Bahah is a city in the southwest of Saudi Arabia. It is the capital of Al Bahah Province nestled between the resorts of Taif and Abha, Al Baha is one of the Kingdom’s prime tourist attractions. It enjoys a pleasant climate and is surrounded by more than forty forests, including Raghdan, al Zaraeb and Baidan. Al Baha is the headquarters of the Governor, local councils and branches of governmental departments. Receiving the state's special attention, the city of Al Baha abounds in educational, tourist and health institutions. The "Pearl of Resorts" is the name given to Al Baha by the fascinated visitors who become acquainted with the city. The "Garden of Hejaz" was the name given to Al Baha by the sharif of Mecca.

Major Attractions :

The Raghdan forest: This covers an area of 600,000 square meters

. Five kilometers from Al Baha City, it has been provided with children's playgrounds and other amenities.

 

Baljurashi: is a major summer resort located on SarahMountains and one of the most beautiful southern cities on the road linking Taif with Abha. Its nice forests like Raghadan makes you disbelieve that you are in Saudi Arabia. It is the land of one thousand and one watchtowers.

 Dhee AynVillage: is situated at about 24 km. Southwest of al-Baha across 'Aqabat al-Bahah, also known as Aqbat King Fahad. The famous village of Dhi Ain is sometimes known as "marble village" as it is built on a small marble mountain. The grove of palm trees is lush due to a small stream nearby. The villagers say that the marble village glows at sunset. It also has a steep escarpment road, running into and out of tunnels on the way up and down.

The Al Kharrara water fall: Al Kharrara water fall is 30 kilometers to the South of Al Baha. Its scenic view attracts a large numbers of visitors.

A-Bahah musem is showing a group of wood, some clothing and jewelry. Range of cooking utensils and farming tools also series of pieces of stone and pottery, and paintings from stone inscriptions and writings, as well as pictures telling the story of each of the periods prior to Islam.

Things To Do:

is the most beautiful forest in Al-Baha. It's about 5km North of Al-Baha city, and covers 2.5sq km area. The area attracts a lot of visitors and all the basic amenities are available within the park. It lays on an escarpment giving a panoramic vista of the valley below.

 

Mountain Adventure: There are plenty of mountains in Al Bahah that are suitable for all levels of sporting activities including hiking, trekking, climbing, mountain bike riding - all in a beautiful natural setting.

Visit Souq Al-Khamis: The traditions of the pilgrim and trade routes live on in Al-Bahah. Centuries of bargaining and bartering, make these souqs particularly lively and popular with locals and visitors alike.

Al Bahah Summer Tourism Festival: The festival takes place every summer and holds a number of activities and sports events, as well as a number of cultural, literary and religious programs. Equestrian and Olympic marathon activities will be held as well as air shows. A number of prizes will be given during this festival such as cars and flight tickets. In addition to daily draws and prizes of cash and gifts.

Famous Meals :

Al-bahah is famous with its South region cuisine which include delicious meals like arikah, mabthoth and Al-tasabea.

What To Buy:

  The Province is also famous for its production of honey, in addition to its agricultural production of vegetables, grain, fruit, and dates. Busy local Souqs also showcase the region’s rich array of local fabrics, silverware, leather-goods and carvings.

Best Time to Visit:

  Due to its location above sea level, Al Bahah climate is moderate in summer and cold in winter. Due to its location at 2500 meters above sea level, the area attracts visitors looking for a moderate climate and pristine, scenic views.
