Overview :

Dammam is one of the three most important cities that lay in the Arabian Gulf and the capital of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Dammam is the largest city in the EasternProvince and third largest in Saudi Arabia after Riyadh and Jeddah. DammamPort is the largest on the Arab Gulf. This port is second to Jeddah's port for import-export traffic.

The Saudi Arabian city is known for some of the most important petroleum refining centers in the world. It is the largest city in the EasternProvince and a very important Seaport of Saudi Arabia. Dammam in Saudi Arabia stretches into the other two important cities of Al-Khobar and Dhahran.

Dammam of Saudi Arabia is easily accessible through flights from various parts of the world. The city has its airport known as KingFahdInternationalAirport.

Major Attractions :

The HeritageVillage: This heritage building is the jewel of EasternProvince a result of 15 years of travelling and passion for Saudi Arabian antiques and architecture of a man named Mr Saad AlBalahi. The 5 storey fortress like building houses many ancient weapons, apparatus, old photo graphs, jewelries and many others things that you rarely see. Not only that, you get to dine inside this beautiful place. And to add to the ambience, you can choose to dine in the main hall, in the middle of the pond or any of the Arabian rooms which were decorated with different decorations and design of different Saudi Arabian region. 

Sports Centre or the KingFahdPark: Dammam at Saudi Arabia offers various sightseeing opportunities to its visitors. One can check out the Coastal Sports Centre or the KingFahdPark. The Sports Centre shows the passion amongst the Arab youths for sports while the Park displays the type of vegetation that the city has.

Half Moon beach:  Another place at Dammam, which is a perfect retreat for visitors, is the Half Moon beach. Shaped as a half moon, the placid beauty of sea water and the sandy coast of the beach is an ideal venue to rejuvenate away from the busy and noisy cities.

Alkhleej Makarim: The most important of all tourist destinations at Dammam of Saudi Arabia is the AlkhleejMakarimVillage on the Half Moon Beach. This is one of the very famous luxurious resorts in the whole Middle East region.

Walking on the shore:  This pretty walk board provides a lovely smooth walk surface as well as a jogging track. The path Great meeting place for locals with children attractions and proper grass. This is a great walking and jogging track alongside the Arabian Gulf. Easy access to at least ten family restaurants and a chain of world class hotels.

 

Surfing and Diving: Surfing on the sea in Dammam is an attraction everyone will always remember. Diving is another attraction for water lovers, the tourist must relax them but in a careful manner.

Boating: The tourist can enjoy the relaxed sea during November to April by booking a boat for small sea trips. The evenings of Dammam are a time to remember.

Famous Meals :

Kabsa: Like other Saudi cities Kabsa is the most traditional lunch in Dammam but they do it in another way called "dammamiah" and Sea food in general.
Sea Food: Qutif fishing village is a popular market of the town here lots of people waiting for the fishermen. Some are buying for a whole sale or bulk of fishes then they will sell it in retails on that same place. Different kind of fishes, the prices are cheap almost triple price in supermarket, a big tuna weighing 2 and 1/2 kgs costs 10 riyals or 3$us only

What To Buy:

Local souvenirs you can find easily in Traditional markets like Souk El-Hob, Souk Mecca and Souk El Harraj an Auction Market similar to Sunday's Markets in the West. 

Best Time to Visit:

Travelers can visit Dammam October to June each year and can enjoy this fantastic city.

Muslims and non Muslims are advised to visit this glorious town of the eastern province. Woman to dress modestly and do not bring drugs to Saudi Arabia as it is strictly banned.
